Apple Watch travel companion, CHOETECH magnetic charging stand evaluation T313

When there is no power outlet outdoors, we are all accustomed to using mobile power to charge our mobile phones. With the continuous development of technology, smart wearable products have also appeared in our field of vision, and smartwatches represented by Apple Watch have also Joined our life and are gradually integrated into all aspects of life. However, the charging of the watch must rely on the socket. If there is no socket outdoors, you must drag a long charging cable with a power bank to charge the watch.

This is something that Apple Watch users do not want to see but have no choice but to do. In response to this pain point, CHOETECH, a well-known domestic 3C accessories manufacturer, has launched a mobile power bank that can wirelessly charge Apple Watch. There is no extra extension cord, it is simple and clear, and It has also passed the MFi certification, let’s take a look.

1. Outer packaging

This time, we will introduce a product launched by CHOETECH, a magnetic charging stand that can wirelessly charge Apple Watch. The upper left corner is a blue folded page with a white CHOETECH brand logo on the bottom, and the right side is the product model: T313, in the middle is the appearance display of the product, with Made for Watch marked in the lower right corner, which means it has been officially certified by Apple.

On the back is a schematic diagram of the use of the product, as well as some English parameter information.

2. Unpacking

The whole packaging box adopts the design of the heaven and earth cover. When the packaging box is opened, the product inside is wrapped in a thick sponge, which can ensure that the product is intact during transportation.

The product inside the box is very stripped down, just the product itself and nothing else.

3. Appearance of the product

The overall design of the product is more rounded, with a circular protrusion at the top, and a magnetic base in contact with the Apple Watch in the middle, which is the same shape as the Apple Watch charging base. There is also a hook design, which is convenient for users to carry out.

Although they are all bright designs, there is still a difference in color between the magnetic base in the middle and the circular protrusions around it. It seems obvious that the magnetic base in the middle is whiter.

One side of the wireless charging is the power button, with four power indicators on it, each indicator represents 25% of the power, and the wireless charging is fully charged at this time.

The other side is the charging interface for wireless charging, and the product itself uses the MicroUSB charging interface.

The back of the product has the black CHOETECH brand logo, and the name of the product: Magnetic Charging Dock, which means magnetic charging dock, the model is T313.

4. Volume weight

The diameter of the magnetic charging stand is about 54mm.

The thickness is about 16mm.

The weight of the product plus the hook is about 53g, which is still very light.

The magnetic charging stand is very light, even with a built-in 900mAh battery, it looks small and easy to carry.

5. Charging test

Charge the magnetic charging stand through the MicroUSB interface, the power is 5.10V 0.67A 3.42W.

In addition, the magnetic charging cradle also supports charging and discharging. You can charge the magnetic charging cradle through the MicroUSB interface, and use the magnetic charging cradle to charge the Apple Watch at the same time. Therefore, when you go out to rest, the product becomes a charger, charging the Apple Watch while charging the magnetic charging base, and the two can be performed at the same time.

The whole charging process of the magnetic charging base was tested. At the beginning of the test, the 5V 1A charging gear was shaken. During the period, the voltage, current and power platform maintained a stable input state. At about 58 minutes, the current and power gradually decreased until the end of charging. The whole process took about 1 hour and 56 minutes, and the maximum power was 5.17V 0.66A 3.46W.

6. Test the whole process of charging the watch

Since the magnetic charging stand provides charging for the Apple Watch without a power outlet, I will actually test the number of times the Apple Watch is charged.

Before the test, let’s take a brief look. Among the Apple Watch series currently launched by Apple, the Series 4 and Series 5 have the biggest changes, and the Apple Watch series 5 is also the watch with the largest built-in battery capacity in the current Apple Watch series. According to the dismantling of the famous dismantling website iFixit, it can be seen that the battery capacity of the Apple Watch series 5 44mm model is 296mAh, which is 1.44% higher than that of the fourth generation (Series 5 on the left, Series 4 on the right).

The watch editor who participated in the test selected the National Bank version of the Apple Watch series 5 44mm GPS version, the model is A2093, and the version is 6.2.6 (17T620).

Let’s actually test it. At this time, the magnetic charging base is fully charged, and the power of the watch is 0. Put the watch on the magnetic charging base, and it shows that it is charging.

After half an hour, the UI interface of the watch shows that the current power is 24%, and the Apple Watch series 5 44mm GPS version can be charged to 24% by using the magnetic charging stand for half an hour.

After an hour, the UI interface of the watch shows that the current power is 48%. Using the magnetic charging stand can charge the Apple Watch series 5 44mm GPS version by 48% for one hour, and then wait for the magnetic charging stand to fully charge the watch.

After charging the watch to 100% for the first time, remove the watch and discharge the watch for the second test. After the second test, it can be seen from the UI interface of the watch that the current remaining power of the watch is 27%, which means that the magnetic charging stand can be fully charged for the Apple Watch series 5 44mm GPS version once fully charged. Recharge the Apple Watch series 5 44mm GPS version to 27%.

Test summary

This test is based on the fact that the watch is completely out of power. In actual use, few people completely drain the power of the watch and then recharge it. Most of them have 10%, 20% or even the remaining power of the watch. When it is 30%, it is placed on the magnetic charging base to start charging. There is no problem in roughly charging the Apple Watch series 5 44mm twice, but everything depends on the actual use. Of course, if some users are still using Apple Watch series 4 or earlier products, I believe this magnetic charging stand will provide longer battery life.

Summarize

As Apple first launched the Apple Watch smart watch in 2015, it can be seen that it has begun to exert force in the wearable market. At present, the Apple Watch has been updated to the fifth generation, the product is becoming more and more mature, and the sales of Apple Watch are also increasing. High, more and more people like this watch, and the improvement of product quality has prompted more and more consumers to accept this watch. However, the battery life of the watch has always been in a short state. It is charged once every two days after mild use. If there is a lot of news, it even needs to be charged once a day. This is also the most complained point about this watch by users.

At present, the power bank that provides power support for mobile phones alone in the outdoors is already everywhere, and it is not a new product. However, charging for Apple Watch is limited to using the original charger and socket to charge the watch. If there is no power supply outdoors, it can only be used with the original charging cable and the power bank with a long charging cable.

This magnetic charging stand from CHOETECH just fills this market gap. It is independent, compact, and has no extra wires. It can provide charging for Apple Watch alone, and more importantly, it has been certified by MFi, so there is no need to worry about charging or breaking. The only shortcoming of the watch is that the interface of the charging stand itself is a MicroUSB charging interface. At present, such a charging stand with a built-in battery that can charge the Apple Watch alone is rare in the market, and the battery life of the Apple Watch has not reached the point where the bracelet can be fully charged for a week, so the device that charges the watch when going out must be Essential. With this magnetic charging stand from CHOETECH, users can also charge the Apple Watch alone without power supply, which is an excellent choice for users with Apple Watch to travel.
